Galaxy Gear Smartwatch unveiled.
Samsung have shown off their new smartwatch alongside a new Note III at IFA today.
In a surprise move, the watch features a camera built into the strap for videos or still photos, and 4GB of storage, although only 10 watchface apps can be installed. It features an 800MHz processor, touchscreen, and very poor 315mAh battery which will struggle to make it through one day of use.
The device goes on sale in more than 100 countries starting late this month, with a price tag of $299 in the US.
In another dissapointing move, the watch also only currently works with the Samsung Galaxy note III and the new Note 10.1, although the company says updates to it’s last generation products such as the Galaxy S3 are coming to also support the watch.
With a high price, poor battery, and no support for my current phone I’ll be sticking with my Pebble smartwatch for now!
